Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has fired a big warning – the Super Eagles have not yet qualified for next year’s World Cup and they can only do this by beating Zambia on Saturday in Uyo.
Nigeria top Group B with 10 points and will need to beat second-placed Zambia, who are on seven points, to book their flight to Russia 2018.
Experienced coach Rohr has therefore charged his team they have to do the business on Saturday so as to finally head to Russia.
“The coach told us that we are in a very good position, but we have not qualified yet for the World Cup,” Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye revealed Rohr’s stern warning to the team in Uyo.
“He insisted that the job is not done yet.
“He also said both teams are high on confidence. We are high on confidence after our results against Cameroon and we are up against a good team, who are also high on confidence after beating Algeria home and away.”
Nigeria are seeking a sixth World Cup appearance, while AFCON 2012 champions Zambia have yet to feature at the global soccer showpiece.
