The Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, has inaugurated a ten-man new El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri Management Board to run the affairs of the team.
The Governor who was full of praises for the last board led by Alhaji Zanna Mala Muhammad Kakaje for making the state proud for the team's performance during the just out gone season added that the sky remains the beginning of this Warriors from Maiduguri.
Governor Shettima therefore thanked the old management for the position of the team and promised to back the team to do more with the new management.
“Let me make it abundantly clear that I am ready to do more for the team so that you came bring trophy to the state at the end of the new season. I want to say, El-Kanemi Warriors have made the state proud having played three years away from Maiduguri. I want to assure you that I am going to make sure the team lacks nothing. No doubt I have been doing so in the past but this time I am going to increase the support,” the sports loving and the number one fan of El- Kanemi FC told the new management of the team.”
The new management has Alhaji Zanna Mala Muhammad Kakaje as Chairman, Modu Bats, Vice Chairman, Ba Ali Ajayi, Team Manager, Ba Aji Hassan, Welfare Manager and Mohammed Abatcha, member. Others are Alhaji Aji Kolo Ali member, Abdullahi Yusuf member, Alhaji Lawan Shuwa, Alhaji G. Waziri and Tahiru Bala as Secretary.
The Governor also directed the new management to assess the club’s new Guest House for renovation and advised them to be reasonable with the assessment for immediately approval.
The Chairman, Zanna Muhammed thanked the Governor for his unflinching support to all the needs of the team which he described as unprecedented support which showed his deep love for the club and the lovely words and promises with from his government and the good people of the state revealing that his new management will celebrate trophy next season. El-Kanemi Warriors FC ended the season placing 6th position in the NPFL.
