Zambia have recalled Power Dynamos midfielder Larry Bwalya as well as added four other players to a training camp, which opens on Monday in Lusaka, ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifier in Nigeria.
Bwalya last featured for Zambia in October 2015.
His current form, which has seen him score four goals so far, has now earned him a recall.
The other players drafted from the initial squad are Power Dynamos goalkeeper Allan Chibwe and three Green Buffaloes stars – Diamond Chikwekwe, Jack Chirwa and Mike Katiba.
Altogether Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda aka Wada has named 26 local players for the first phase of the preparation for an October 7 Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup clash against Nigeria.
The foreign-based players are expected to join at a later stage.
Nigeria top Group B on 10 points with Zambia lying second on seven points, while Cameroon and Algeria have already been eliminated from the qualifying race.
