Ubong Ekpai eyes Eagles recall

By Daily Sports on September 19, 2017

Ubong Ekpai has demanded a recall to the Super Eagles after he scored his third league goal for Czech club Zlin Monday night.

Zlin lost 2-1 at Plzen with former Akwa United winger on for 86 minutes before he was substituted in a tension-soaked match.

“I am happy I got a goal, but at the end the goal was not enough to give us a point,” he told SCORENigeria

“We lost to a more composed team. I think it was fatique because we played a Europa League match on Thursday and we did not have enough rest before this match, anyway I don’t want to see excuse we are determined to end the season by returning to the continent to play either in the Champions League or the Europa.

“I am glad that am playing in the second best competition in the world. When I was a boy I used to watch the Champions League and Europa, playing in Europe now is a great plus to my career.

“This is my second straight season playing in the Europa Cup, last season I played with a different team here in the Czech Republic and I joined Zlin at the beginning of the season and so far I am enjoying my football and hoping one day I will be recalled to the senior national team.” (SCORENigeria)
