“Why Tyrone Ebuehi is yet to debut for Nigeria”

By Daily Sports on September 9, 2017

Insight on why ADO Den Haag full back Tyrone Ebuehi is yet to make his anticipated debut for Nigeria has been given.

Ebuehi snubbed the initial invitation to join up with the senior national team of Nigeria, but the 20 year old subsequently had a change of mind and has since been part of the squad thrice.

However aside appearing in the friendly games against Togo and Corsica, the defender who is comfortable as a right or left full back is yet to make his competitive debut for Nigeria.

Recently he watched from the bench in Nigeria’s back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers clash against Cameroon, and it has lead to talks on if he is still in the plans of coach Gernot Rohr.

“Ebuehi is very much in the plans of Rohr. He knows it and very soon he will be given the chance to play in a competitive game. You have to introduce him slowly else you destroy his confidence,” a backroom staff of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed.
