Zambia are proposing a special training camp in Europe most likely in Spain ahead of next month’s crunch World Cup qualifier against Nigeria in Uyo, officials have disclosed.
The Chipolopolo are second in Group B with seven points from four matches, three points behind leaders Nigeria and will need a result in Uyo to stay alive in the qualifiers for Russia 2018.
The match will be played on October 7.
A source based in Zambia told SCORENigeria:”There are strong indications that the training site in Europe for Zambia would be Spain because that was also where the U20s prepared in February and April this year.
“Winter will be setting in most other parts of Europe around the time of the match, but Spain will still enjoy warm weather and so suitable.”
Several of the country’s young players who have broken into the main squad from the U20s are now based in Europe so it will be easier for them to make short flights to Spain.
