CSKA Moscow striker Aaron Samuel has left the Super Eagles training squad in Uyo to attend to a pressing personal issue, according to SCORENigeria.
Samuel, who was last involved with the national team under Stephen Keshi, has since left for Lagos and it is understood he will proceed to his former base of China to sort out some outstanding issues.
The big striker was a last-minute replacement for injured Arsenal ace Alex Iwobi.
Ex-Flying Eagles midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has also returned to his club Akwa United after he trained with the Eagles squad on the request of coach Gernot Rohr.
He was originally on the standby list for the World Cup qualifiers.
