Osahon to rely on rookies v Delta

By Daily Sports on August 30, 2017

FC Robo Queens head coach Emmanuel Osahon has promised the very best performance against the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super Four side Delta Queens.

The Lagos landladies are hosts of the Asaba side in Wednesday’s Aiteo Cup round of 32 clash at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The two top-flight side avoided each other during the just concluded 2016/17 NWPL regular season.

Osahon said he hopes to shock his auspicious opponents by fielding largely rookies aimed at unsettling their much experienced foes.

“Expect the best of FC Robo Queens against Delta Queens on Wednesday in Lagos, I’m going to parade a largely new set of players who have never tasted top-flight action.“

FC Robo Queens are set to shock the fans who will troop out to the stadium with their new style and tactics.

“I train upstarts and youngsters to stardom and I believe the tough training for the past days will result in resounding victory for us.“

I’m not disturbed or bordered by the high pedigree of the opponents, I always respect my opponents especially the older and experienced ones but I do not fear any of them.

“Victory over an experienced side like Delta Queens on Wednesday will be headline news and I’m keenly and patiently waiting for the news.“

I have endured sleepless nights preparing for the Aiteo Cup round of 32 clash match-up against Delta Queens and I’m quite confident we will win the clash at the end of the day.

“FC Robo Queens have always been doing well in the hitherto Federation Cup playing up to the quarters and semis but the coming of the Aiteo will surely boost us to properly challenge for the podium dance.“

Our morale is quite high and the players are anxiously waiting for the matchday to showcase their skills,” said Osahon to supersport.com.

The winners of the round of 32 Aiteo Cup will progress to the round of 16 to be joined by the drawn bye sides, Ben Women FC, Ibom Angels, Jokodolu Babes, Sure Babes, Sunshine Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Osun Babes, Abia Angels and Bayelsa Queens.
