Wikki Tourists captain and right back Mustapha Ibrahim has said his side will avoid defeat at former Nigerian champions Enyimba.
The Bauchi Elephants are guests of the People’s Elephant in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 36 clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
Ibrahim said the match, which is going to be beamed live on television, is a rare opportunity for his side to showcase their strength and football artistry to the whole world as well as market themselves.
“Our sole mission here in Calabar is to get the whole three points at stake or worst case scenario a point against Enyimba.“
We will fight tooth and nail to avoid defeat which will further worsen our poor placement on the league log.
“We have looked forward to playing our games on live television. This particular match is a huge opportunity as well as important to our career as professional players.“
That’s why we've gone the extra mile to prepare for the match aimed at getting something decent from the match
.“This is a huge opportunity for us to get something on the road as the season is gradually coming to an end.“
Even though we are certain that the team will not go down on relegation we want to fight hard to finish the campaign respectfully.
“I still believe the league is quite open for us to go ahead to give the best of our performance in the on-going top-flight.“
We know that our last season’s match at Gombe United will be tough, notwithstanding the fact that Gombe is almost gone on relegation so we must leverage on the opportunity in the Enyimba clash to make something for ourselves,” said the former Nigerian junior international strongman to supersport.com.
