Super Eagles receive financial inducement

The Super Eagles' quest for a 2018 World Cup ticket has received a boost ahead of their qualifiers against Cameroon next month as approval has been given to all their financial needs.

Nigerian Senate Sports Committee chairman, Obinna Ogba, said that the senate committee on sports has given approval to all the demands of the Nigeria Football Federation for the two back-to-back games against Cameroon on September 1 in Uyo and September 4 Yaounde.

"We are working in liaison with the NFF to ensure that Super Eagles beat Cameroon to grab the group ticket for the World Cup. We are giving the NFF all the support they need to get the results that will see Nigeria's flag fly in Russia," Ogba, who was a board member of the NFF.

"I am confident that the Super Eagles will beat the Lions of Cameroon in Uyo next month and get a good result in Yaoundé in the second leg days later. The Eagles know what is at stake and will do the right thing to be there."

He also commended Coach Gernot Rohr for the good work he has been doing with the Super Eagles but warned that all that will amount to nothing if the team fail to beat Cameroon In Uyo.
