W/C Qualifier unfolding drama: Players’ agents, Technical committee, NFF jostle to smuggle players into Eagles

By Victor Enyinnaya on August 4, 2017

The drama on who gets what on the list of players that would file out against the high flying Indomitable Lions of Cameroun in an anticipated epic 2018 World Cup qualifier  match in Uyo on September 1 is building up to a worrisome level.

In-depth investigation that spanned two months now indicate that the players agents, some executive committee members of the NFF and some technical and development members have connived to push in their lads to be in party for the September 1 make or mar encounter with the African defending champions.

According to our investigation, these spoilers are dangling mouth watering carrots that would ensure contracts, raise the profiles, work permit or negotiations as the case may be that would make it easier for their wards in their respective clubs are guaranteed.

These players’ agents, it was alleged, have perfectly penetrated the consciousness of some NFF executive committee and technical committee members and have also been reassured by those that held the knife and yam that they will play their parts well to ensure the bargain holds water.

“This current situation that again reared its naughty head in the Super Eagles you are aware remained a dark spot in the past and since the arrival of the foreign technical hand, there has been sanity until the AFCON qualifier match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa where all manners of players were invited and at the same time made the first eleven team list for that encounter.“

How these people suddenly manipulated themselves into our national team despite the presence of Gernot Rohr has remained scary.  The mafias are back. The cabals are on the prowl again for the very soul of the Super Eagles team against Cameroun.  One is not flying kite.  It is real situation report. The matter on ground is serious. You saw our line up against South Africa.

The truth is that these same Players’ agents that messed the country up in that game are all over the place cementing and spreading their dirty deals and  it may cost Nigeria a place in next year’s World Cup finals to be staged in Russia if those concerned finally cave into their antics.

The team started well, winning her first two games and the right thinking tact ought to be gearing towards consolidation, rather than this kind of shaky, loose talks and panicky moves all over the place. It then makes one to ask: where are the good old days’ planners in situation like this.

In other climes where football administration is not the Winner Takes All syndrome where the game remains team sport, anybody that has winning formula gets involved,” a source that spoke on condition of anonymity to our investigating team lamented.

Daily Sports can now authoritative report that as enthusiastic football loving Nigerians are praying earnestly and hoping that the Super Eagles would play at the Russia 2018 World Cup largely due to the way and manner the side took its first two games thereby currently leading the group, expectantly counting on grand planning and preparations on the part of the NFF, the technical crew and the players which would produce effective counter systematic and water tight mechanism against the Cameroonian team but the greedy, selfish football cabals/mafias are thinking of manipulating their players into the Super Eagles with the intention of raising their profiles in Europe.

Some want better deals for their near mediocre players who are desperate like them to make ends meet either by hook or crook, while others want their lads to have a work permit in England, France or Spain.

That is the current state of desperation that surrounds the Eagles now and the lobbyists are so aggressive that they will stop at nothing to ensure their demands are met. The pressure is offensively on, but what the fans of the Super Eagles earnestly yearn for is the group’s sole ticket which the 2013 AFCON Champs are strong contenders.

However, as the build up for the game continues, the technical crew led by Franco German, Gernot Rohr has been losing sleep and growing more grey hair especially on the goal keeping area where the number one, Carl Ikeme, would unavoidably be absent in-between the sticks due to ailment.

Meanwhile, how the foreign technical hand would stamp his feet on ground and resist the expected terrible pressure and name calling that would come from his employers if he says no to the manipulation will cast interesting scenario to be hold as events unfold.

Daily Sports further gathered that the rumour of what awaits the head coach has flittered into his ears for which he does not want to take chances on the remaining qualifiers hence he brought in a well-grounded Italian as goalkeeper trainer and his list of players to the technical and development committee would remain intact as any other name that did not emanate from him would be stoutly resisted. He may also raise alarm for Nigerians to know what is going on.

It would be recalled that the 20-year-old defender, Chidozie Awaziem, who is on loan from Portuguese giants FC Porto was alleged to be one of the products of the above narrative when Nigeria played South Africa in AFCON 2019 qualifier match in Uyo where the green horn was listed ahead of vastly experienced and imaginative ace central defender, Kenneth Omeruo, in the heart of the Eagles defence, hence the scandalous 2-0 bashing by the visitors.

However, unconfirmed report point to the direction that Rohr has vowed to guide the team to pick the World Cup ticket from this group of death by sticking to the winning team he filed out against Zambia and Algeria except in the event that there is an injury.
