Chinedu Obasi in line for AIK debut in Europa League tie

By Daily Sports on August 2, 2017

Chinedu Obasi is in line to make his AIK Solna debut in his second spell in a UEFA Europa League qualifier at Sporting Braga of Portugal on Thursday.

Quoting a source close to the former Super Eagles forward, SCORENigeria reports that Obasi has been named on the matchday squad, who will fly out to Portugal tomorrow.

Obasi only rejoined AIK Monday night after a long trip from China to Germany.

“They love him here and he is even likely to start for them against Braga on Thursday,” informed the source.

“It was a long, tiring trip from China, but they have so much confidence in him.”

The first leg Europa League clash in Sweden ended goalless last week.

The former Schalke 04 and Hoffenheim star has resigned with AIK after he parted ways with Chinese second division club Shenzhen FC, who had demoted him to their reserves on transfer deadline day in China.
