Nigerian youngster Dennis Bonaventure was the star of the show as he scored a brace to help his new Belgian side Club Brugge begin the new season with a bang.
The former Belgian champions beat Lokeren 4-0 away with Bonaventure hogging the headlines with two well taken goals on his league debut for the club.
Club Brugge didn't take time to settle into the game and went ahead after just five minutes through Brandon Mechele.
The 19-year-old Bonaventure then took over the show as he beat the offside trap to slot past Lokeren goalkeeper Davino Velhurst to make it 2-0 with only 17 minutes gone.
He was on song again six minutes later with another sublime effort to put his side 3-0 ahead as Brugge tore Lokeren apart.
Marko Miric put through his own goal in the 55th minute to hand Brugge a 4-0 advantage as the home side capitulated under pressure despite being a man-up after Brugge defender Helibelton Palacios Zapata was sent off in the 32nd minute.
Despite Lokeren’s endeavour, the result was never in doubt as Bonaventure and Brugge kicked off the new Belgian season in style. © supersport.com
