Zamalek utility man Marouf Yusuf is hopeful he will get another chance to play for the Super Eagles after he was first called up for last month’s AFCON qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.
The 24-year-old left footer, who can play as a central midfielder or left back, has featured regularly for Zamalek in the ongoing campaign.
The Super Eagles will face Cameroon in September in a double-header contest of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Yusuf, who joined ‘The Whites’ from Shorta three seasons ago, said he believes he has what it takes to stake a place in the Super Eagles team.
“The atmosphere in camp when I first trained with the team was fantastic. I was well received by the technical crew, officials and players. I really cherish the moments and will like to have a feel of it in my career,” he told SCORENigeria“
It has always been my dream of playing for the Nigerian national team and I think I have the qualities needed to stake a claim as a left back in the team.
The soft spoken lad admitted he gained a lot of experience in the Super Eagles camp.
“I had a great experience with the team and I trained with the big boys in the Eagles camp,” he revealed.
