Enyimba forward Ibrahim Mustapha is still holding on to the dreams of his side lifting the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) trophy.
The Aba side sit fourth on the log, seven points behind league leaders Plateau United with eight round of games to go before the season climaxes.
Mustapha, popularly knows as ‘Buga,’ is not fazed by the points difference and believes if Enyimba can get a win in Ibadan against Shooting Stars, then anything is possible.
The former champions are guests of the Oluyole Warriors this Sunday in a Matchday 31 game of the NPFL as they continue their chase for a top-two finish in the league.
Mustapha feels a win in Ibadan will be the catalyst the team need as the season gets into the deep end.
“I’m quite confident of Sunday’s game against Shooting Stars as we are here (in Ibadan) for the three points,” he told supersport.com.
“We are fourth now and if we can win or get a draw then it will put us in a good position to challenge for the title. Like you know anything can happen in football.“
The team is well prepared for the match with Shooting Stars and we are here for a mission. We want to get points here and we will.
“For me, I see Enyimba as champions of the league. Many might not believe me but like I told you before, anything can happen in football. We are determined to win the league and make our fans happy. That has always been our goal and we shall keep working on it.” © supersport.com
