KAA Gent appeared to have snatched young Nigerian Theophilus Solomon from under the noses of another Belgian club Lokeren, according to media reports in Belgium.
The 21-year-old Solomon has been with Croatian club Rijeka and now looks set to be loaned out for a season to Gent after initial interest by Lokeren.
Lokeren were proposing a player swap to get Solomon on loan.
SCORENigeria also learnt the player from Abuja Football College, who trained with the Flying Eagles in 2013, was also linked with KV Kortrijk, also in Belgium.
Solomon will now join Anderson Esiti, Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu at Gent.
