Messi’s treat for guests at his wedding

By Daily Sports on July 9, 2017

Pablo Zabaleta has revealed Lionel Messi gave out special bottles of wine to those who attended his wedding last week.

The Barcelona star married his childhood love Antonella in a ceremony that attracted a great deal of global attention, with many star players there to take part in the celebrations.

The Argentine showed off his dancing skills after tying the knot, while the pair were praised for donating the leftover food and drink to charity.

But Zabaleta says there was another elegant touch in the form of giant wine bottles which had Messi's name on them.

“We got a bottle of really good wine, a Malbec, which Lionel has put his name on the bottle," the right-back told West Ham's official website."

It was a big, big bottle of Malbec which was hard to bring back to England, because I had too much stuff in the luggage.

“Of course, I’ve kept that bottle of wine in Argentina so next time we go back there, I will open it and enjoy a few glasses with the family!"

Zabaleta was delighted to be able to attend his close friend's special moment alongside 260 guests.

“It was really good. It was a special moment to be there with Lionel Messi, of course, and some of the players who have been playing with him for so many years with the Under-20s, Olympic Games and the senior national team”.
