Nigeria and Mainz 05 have been handed a boost following the return of Leon Balogun from injury.
The 29-year-old sustained an injury in the O-Fives' last league game of the season against Koln on May 20 and was replaced by Alexander Hack in the 18th minute.
Balogun who also missed the Super Eagles' 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa in June, confirmed his return to action and readiness to play for the Gernot Rohr’s men and his Bundesliga side on Twitter.
“Back on track, ready to start the new season! Let's do this,” Balogun tweeted.
