FC Ifeanyiubah’s Cameroonian midfielder, Tamen Medrano, is proud of the phenomenal growth of Nigeria’s foremost league awards, the League Bloggers Awards (LBA).
Medrano, who won the first-ever Best Foreigner award at the maiden edition of the LBA in 2012, described the award as “the number one award for players and coaches in Nigeria's top division.”
“Back in 2012, awareness about the awards was low. However, it has made a lot of progress. The LBA started five years ago and today has achieved strong growth in terms of awareness and publicity.“
Moreover, every month players play well to win the LBA. I know players target the award every month because of its immense value. Credit must go to the LBA organisers for creating a brand players now identify with.
“The 2012 LBA Best Foreigner Award remains precious to me,” he said.Interestingly, Medrano’s coach, Yaw Preko, was recently named LBA Manager of the Month for May. © supersport.com
