By Daily Sports on October 28, 2018

The Federation of Uganda Football Association has confirmed an international friendly with Nigeria on November 20 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

The warm-up match will be happening three days after Gernot Rohr’s men face South Africa in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier clash at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.

While the Cranes, who are a point away from securing a ticket to Cameroon 20189 will be jetting into Asaba three days after their qualifier against Cape Verde at the Namboole Stadium.

Confirming the development to FUFA website, FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein, said:

“The Uganda Cranes technical team will make use of the FIFA International break that runs from 12th-20th November by playing a high profile friendly with the former African Champions.

Matches between these two soccer giants have always been so close since time immemorial.

“A 30-man contingent will depart on 18th November 2018 for the trip to Nigeria. The foreign-based players in the contingent will then connect to their respective clubs after the friendly.”

Regardless of the outcome against Bafana Bafana, Rohr will be hoping to seize the friendly match to assess some untested players ahead of clash against already eliminated Seychelles. (Goal)
