Oshaniwa, Hearts finally part ways by mutual consent

Scottish Premier League club, Hearts, have parted ways with Nigerian defender Juwon Oshaniwa by mutual consent.

Hearts made the announcement of Oshaniwa's departure on their official website Wednesday.

 "The Nigerian full-back’s contract has been ended early, allowing him to move on and find another club," a statement on the club's website reads.

 "Juwon signed for Hearts in September 2015 and went on to make 25 appearances in a maroon shirt."

 "The club wishes Juwon well in the future."

 Oshaniwa, 26, joined Hearts from Israeli club Ashdod FC in 2015 where he made 24 appearances in his first season.

But in his second season (2016/2017), Oshaniwa, who played for Kwara United, Lobi Stars and Sharks, in the Nigeria Professional Football League before moving abroad, did not make a single appearance.

He was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

He was also in the Super Eagles squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
