El-Kanemi FC of Maiduguri arrived Calabar on Monday morning in preparation for Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter against homers, Enyimba International FC as hostilities resume after the holiday.
The league went on break at the peak of the Ramada fast to allow for level playing field for all teams.
Media Manager of the Maiduguri based side, Prince Anthony Obaseki, revealed this in a telephone conversation with Daily Sports, adding that the reason for the early arrival was to give the players enough time to rest and to prepare to confront the homers that are not mere nut to crack.
“No doubt it promises to be a good game where the teams will be all out to snatch full league points but it won’t be easy for both sides. Incidentally, the teams parade some of the finest legs in the league this season and can also boast of experienced and tight planning gaffer in Gbenga Ogunbote and Ladan Bosso. Fans in the Canaan City will be on the edges of their seats as they cheer good football displays. It is going to be a tough game,” Obaseki predicts.
The Benin Prince insists that his team is ready to the teeth to give Enyimba double header fight as the Gov. Shettima boys are no push over “as we are in contention for continental ticket. It is against that background that the team is in high spirit and well-motivated too to go all out to play the rugged Aba based former champions to a standstill.
“In short, it will be fight to finish. We declared operation show no mercy against Enyimba.”
Obaseki called for perfect officiating, which would give level playing field. “It will be football at its best,” he posits.
