Wikki Tourists captain and right back Mustapha Ibrahim says team work helped his side to earn a crucial away point at FC IfeanyiUbah (FCIU).).
The Bauchi Elephants were forced to a barren draw by the Anambra Warriors in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 25 clash at the FC IfeanyiUbah Stadium in Nnewi.
Ibrahim said the away draw at FC IfeanyiUbah is certain to be a positive turnaround for the Bauchi landlords’ quest for relevance in the on-going top flight.
“We adopted an entirely different approach in today’s clash.
“The edge we had over FC IfeanyiUbah is that we are more of a team than the hosts, who play more an individual game.
“We are the biggest winners in NPFL matchday 25 matches as we succeeded in ending the season’s search for an away point.
“We are very excited with the away point at FC IfeanyiUbah as we have always seen it as unusual for us to go through 24 matches without a point on the road.
“I think this point has changed everything and will certainly prove to be a turning point for us in the on-going top flight.
“We were unlucky not to have beaten FC IfeanyiUbah with at least three goals, especially towards the dying minutes of the clash.
“We will not over celebrate the draw but quickly concentrate on another difficult home match against Lobi Stars,” said the former Nigerian junior international strongman to supersport.com.
Wikki Tourists are 15th on the 20-team top-flight log on 31 points 14, behind league leaders Plateau United.
