Plateau United cruised to a 5-1 win over Gombe United in one of Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixtures.
Playing under soggy conditions at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, Plateau United got their noses in front when Emma James converted from the spot after just six minutes into the match.
Three minutes later Mannir Ubale evened matters from 11 metres and it looked like a game was in the offing.
But Kennedy Boboye's men restored their lead on 22 minutes when Elisha Golbe turned in Daniel Itodo's long throw-in and before the break Peter Eneji gave Plateau United a two-goal cushion.
The NPFL leaders had to wait till the 79th minute when Kabiru Umar got his name among the goals which was followed by two more goals to make it 5-1.
Plateau United maintained their five-point over second-placed MFM FC who won 1-0 over 3SC.
Monday Shinshinma's first half strike was enough for MFM to defeat 3SC in an NPFL game for the first time.
Rivers United needed a stoppage time goal by Efosa Eguakun to see off FC Ifeanyiubah 2-1. Ayo Saka scored from the spot on 60 minutes but Prince Aggreh equalized also with a penalty in the 81st minute for FC Ifeanyiubah.
Chinedu Onyelonu, Victor Alegbe and Ahmed Usman scored for Wikki Tourists as they ran out 3-1 winners against Niger Tornadoes. Andrew Ikefe's goal proved insufficient for Tornadoes.
El-Kanemi Warriors failed to win for a second successive match as they suffered a 0-3 defeat at Katsina United.
Musa Suleiman scored in the first and 48th minutes before Obinna Eleje netted on 74 minutes to complete the rout.
Mfon Udoh was the hero in Enyimba's 2-1 win in the Abia Derby against Abia Warriors. He scored twice before former Enyimba man Chimezie Amanfor scramble in a consolation for Warriors as both teams had a player - Enyimba's Kelly Kester and Chinedu Ozor of Abia Warriors - each sent off.
Kano Pillars left no one in doubt about their hunger to claim the full points against Sunshine Stars when Nyima Nwangwa scored on 10 seconds from Rabiu Ali's assist in a 3-1 success.
Junior Lokosa extended Pillars' lead after 16 minutes and then got his brace after good work by Ali three minutes before the break.
A second half goal by Ajibola Otegbeye was all Sunshine Stars could muster.
ABS FC, Enugu Rangers and Remo Stars won by 1-0 scorelines against Lobi Stars, Akwa United and Nasarawa United respectively. Oluwasegun Akinbo, Bright Silas and Eric Dufegha scored for ABS, Rangers and Remo Stars.
Lobi's Raphael Ayagwa and Nasarawa United's Jide Williams got red cards for second offences
