Ameobi fires double in USA

 Newcastle-born Nigerian Tomi Ameobi has rediscovered his goal scoring abilities after he netted a brace to help FC Edmonton defeat hosts New York Cosmos 4-2 in a USA NASL game.

FC Edmonton are now sixth on the league table with 10 points from 10 games.

The 28-year-old younger brother of Shola Ameobi scored in the 72nd minute to give his team the lead for the first time in the game at 2-1.

He then sealed the victory when he made it 4-1 in the 89th minute to take his goals’ haul to three in 10 games.
