Rangers end El Kanemi 25-home win run

By Daily Sports on June 8, 2017

Champions Enugu Rangers have finally ended an awesome 25 straight wins at home by El Kanemi in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by the hosts today.

This result comes just after Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma raised alarm that conditions in Maiduguri, El Kanemi Warriors home ground, make it almost impossible for the home side to lose in front of their fans.

Daniel Etor put Rangers in front before ElKanemi fought back to draw level late on.

League leaders Plateau United came from behind to beat Sunshine Stars 2-1 in Akure with the home team’s goalkeeper Ariyo David sent off for protesting Plateau’s winning goal.

The fairy tale run of Niger Tornados was extended after they pipped Rivers United 1-0 in Lokoja.

Tony Okpotu scored the fifth hat-trick of the NPFL season when Lobi Stars dumped title chasers MFM FC 3-1 at home.

However, the woes of Shooting Stars and coach Fatai Amoo continued after they were held to a scoreless draw at home by Kano Pillars.
