Odey, Olatunbosun return boosted MFM's confidence - Ilechukwu

By Daily Sports on June 6, 2017

MFM coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu believes the return of Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun boosted the confidence of his side.

The Lagos outfit secured a 1-0 win over FC IfeanyiUbah in a Nigeria Professional Football League encounter at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

Odey and Olatunbosun were involved with the Nigeria national team recently, but returned to the Lagos outfit after they were unable to make the final cut for the Super Eagles' 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

"I knew we were going to win because we were the better side," Ilechukwu told Goal.

"The match against FC IfeanyiUbah was tough but my boys understood what it takes, we can't go two matches without a win, it's not possible.

"I am happy that both Stephen Odey and Olatunbosun Sikiru are back in the team. You can't have a Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi kind of player in your team and be scared. Players like that boost the confidence of the team. .

"MFM is a title contender, I keep saying this because we believe that we can do it. I am confident that we shall perform very well this season," he concluded.
