WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis “Superman” Stevenson massacred a badly over-matched Andrzej Fonfara in a 2nd round stoppage in Saturday rematch at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) dropped the 29-year-old Fonfara (29-5, 17 KOs) late in the 1st round.
At the start of the 2nd round, Stevenson continued to pound Fonfara with left hands until the Polish fighter’s trainer Virgil Hunter signaled to referee Michael Griffin to stop the fight.
The official time of the stoppage was at 0:28 of round 2. Fonfara had recently been knocked out in the 1st round by Joe Smith Jr. last year.
