Morocco’s FUS Rabat coach Walid Regragui has promised his team will today put up a good fight at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, where hosts Rivers United have made a fortress in international football.
FUS Rabat were proud winners of the 2010 CAF Confederation Cup and were semi-finalists last year.
They lead this year’s Confederation Cup Group A after they defeated Uganda’s Kampala City Council in their opening game, while Rivers United fell 3-1 at Club Africain.
“We are here to win and to attack, just as we did against Kampala City Council,” said Regragui at the pre-match press conference.
“We hope to take our chances and get a good result here.
“I have led FUS in international football in the past three years, so I know that are no more any easy games, but we’re a new, big team in Morocco.
“This is a very big match because Rivers were good against Club Africain in a difficult game.
“Qualification from this group will not be decided in this game as there will still be four other games to play.
“We respect Rivers United, but we have to fight.”
The coach disclosed two players have been ruled out of tomorrow’s game due to injury, while also insisting they will not be affected by the hot weather as Morocco is much hotter.
