Manchester City have soft pedaled and handed Nigerian-born youngster Tosin Adarabiyio a new deal that will pay him £ 25,000 a week, according to media reports.
The 19-year-old central defender looked set to quit City after “exorbitant” demands of his agent and brother, Gbolahan.
According to The Telegraph, City shifted their stance and gave Adarabiyio a new contract at the last minute moreso as they have been fined and handed a two-year ban from signing youngsters after they tapped two young players.
Adarabioyo is expected to earn an initial £25,000 a week, despite never having played in the Premier League, and the deal will rise if he forces his way into Pep Guardiola’s first team.
Adarabioyo has played just 121 minutes of first team football this season with Guardiola claiming the youngster was not ready for more regular playing time.
