BREAKING NEWS: Wikki Tourists Management and Coaching Crew disbanded with immediate effect

By Daily Sports on May 8, 2017

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Management and Coaching Crew of Wikki Tourists Football Club.

A statement signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Abubakar Al-Sadique, said that Wikki’s local coaches are to oversee the affairs of the club until a new management is appointed.

Governor Abubakar had in March warned the Management of the Bauchi State-owned Nigeria Premier League side to raise the image of the state by improving on its performance by the middle of the ongoing football season in April or be relieved of their appointments.

Giving the matching orders following the dismal performance of the Tourists, the Governor had said after meeting with the Management of the team: “If by the middle of this season in April I have not seen impressive performance I will not hesitate to change the management of the Team and bring those that are ready to restore the good name of the club.”

Al-Sadique said in the statement issued late Monday morning in Bauchi: “The State Governor gave Wikki Tourists all the supports it needs to make Bauchi proud, and assured that he’s ready to do more, when the glory of the football club, and indeed that of Bauchi State, is restored.”
