MFM FC retained the Lagos State FA Cup after beating Spartans FC 3-1 in the final played at the Agege Stadium on Sunday evening.
Onuwa Chukwuma opened scores for MFM in the 11th minute while Oyedele Sulaiman equalised for Spartans in the 25th minute to end the first half in a stalemate.
MFM however came in stronger in the second half and brought their Nigerian Professional Football League experience to bear over their amateur opponents by scoring two more goals through Stanley Okorom (penalty) and Sikiru Olatunbosun to seal their victory.
The competition was sponsored by Winners Golden Bet and MFM took home the trophy as well as N1 million prize money while Spartans got N500,000.
