ABS FC and Akwa United continued their impressive performance at the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Under-15 Promises tournament with wins over Sunshine Stars and Enyimba respectively on Tuesday.
Ilorin club ABS defeated Sunshine Stars in a Group C game at the Osogbo City Stadium. ABS under-15s captain Olusegun Olakunle scored twice in the second to help his team see off their opponents.
ABS have now taken maximum points from their opening two matches having defeated MFM FC 1-0 on Monday.
Akwa United followed up on their opening day win of 5-0 over Abia Warriors on Monday with a 1-0 success over Enyimba at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Tuesday.
Elisha Aniefiok Jonah scored the winner against Enyimba with 10 minutes to time to take their points tally to six after two matches at the NPFL Under-15 Promises. Akwa United top Group A of the tournament.
Jonah now leads the scorers’ chart with four goals after two appearances.
Rivers United ran out three-nil winners over Abia Warriors in the other Group A game on Tuesday. Kenneth Clinton scored twice and Felix Ojuah completed the rout as the Port Harcourt team began their campaign on a winning note.

But MFM missed the chance to put their first full points on the board when Ibrahim Danladi's spot kick was saved by Remo Stars goalkeeper Taiwo Moshood at the death.
The competition continues on Wednesday with four matches. Rivers United face Akwa United while whipping boys Abia Warriors go up against FC Ifeanyiubah.
Sunshine Stars and MFM will square up in the first game of the day in Group C before ABS FC and 3SC go head to head. © supersport.com
