Nigerian striker Chinedu Obasi marked his official debut for Chinese side Shenzen FC with a brace in their 6-0 win over Dalian Transcendence on Sunday.
The Super Eagles attacker scored his first, and his side’s second, in the 32nd minute, finishing with a left-footed shot inside the penalty area.
He netted his second goal to make it 3-0 early in the second half, this time with a well-placed right-footed shot.
A hat-trick for Harold Preciado and a goal for Cameroon’s Aboubakar Oumarou completed the scoring for Shenzen, who are managed by former Ivory Coast coach Sven Goran Eriksson.
Obasi, 30, signed a one-year contract (with an option to renew) with Shenzen back in January.
He has represented Nigeria in the Olympics, Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup, and has featured for the likes of Hoffenheim, Schalke and AIK in his club career.
