Nigeria have moved a spot up and are now 50th in the world according to the latest FIFA Rankings released today.
They are also seventh in the African ratings, which is still led by Senegal, who are ranked 33rd in the world.
However, the Super Eagles ranking is expected to suffer seriously by next month because they will not feature at AFCON 2017 in Gabon and have been inactive since their 3-1 home win over Algeria in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in November.
Nigeria World Cup rivals Algeria are 39th in the world and fifth in Africa, Cameroon are 62nd in the world and 12th in Africa, and Zambia are 88th in the world and 21st in Africa. (mtnfootball.com)
