Achimugu up to goalkeepers' war at Enyimba

By Daily Sports on January 4, 2017

Enyimba newly signed goalkeeper Friday Achimugu has said he will be up to first-team competition at his new club.

The former Giwa FC shot stopper said: “I am not scared of competition. Enyimba already have two fantastic goalkeepers with national team experience, Fatai Dauda, who has been dropped from the Ghana Black Stars preparing for the AFCON, and Theophilus Afelokhai, who I believe has been one of the best in the country for close to a decade.

“The two goalkeepers will bring out the best in me, and I also believe in myself and what I am capable of.

“I have also worked with coach Gbenga Ogunbote in Giwa, so he knows my strength and I was able to keep a clean sheet in some of the matched I kept when he was Giwa coach.

“I am in Enyimba to contribute my quota and to be part of a winning team.

“I bless God that I am now at one of the best teams in Africa. Joining Enyimba is historic to me. Now I can't wait for the season to commence.” (mtnfootball.com)
