Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has paid tribute to Dele Alli, labelling him as the “most important emergence in English football in years”.
Spurs head into their mouth-watering Premier League clash against leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Wednesday in fine form, having won their last four games with eight goals scored in the last two alone. Alli has been key to Tottenham's fine run of performances over the festive period, scoring four of those strikes against Southampton and Watford in the space of four days. And Pochettino has since heaped praise on his young charge ahead of the crunch Chelsea encounter. Speaking to AS, he said of Alli: “He is a player with very aggressive offence, ruthless when going forward and with determination, which makes him extremely dangerous. “He has a great understanding of the game and masterfully attacks spaces, good mentality and self-confidence.
