Why Rangers cash, land gifts were delayed - Sports Commissioner

By Daily Sports on December 30, 2016

Enugu State sports commissioner, Charles Ndukwe has given reasons why Nigeria champions Rangers cash and land gifts by the Governor were held up.

Both players and officials have complained they are yet to receive the cash promised them by Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and could not locate where their plots of land at the “Rangers Estate”.

“The process of government and the holidays caused a delay and even the land issue has a process – the ministry of land has to clear the virgin land, surveyors have to work there, so that everyone will know where his plot is,” Ndukwe explained.

“This could take two, three months.

“What we should also know is that initially the land was meant for only the players, but the Governor in his magnanimity has even accommodated the coaches and staff. This is unprecedented in this country.

“Because of this amendment, the land has been expanded to accommodate everybody.

“The Governor deserves serious commendation. Every time our Governor says something, he keeps to it. He said he will give Rangers a bus, he gave them. He said he will give (coach) Imama (Amapakabo) a car, he gave him.”

Ndukwe equally assured that team now have the cash promised them by the Governor.

“The money is in the individual accounts of the players as we speak, everybody is now smiling to the bank,” he revealed. (mtnfootball.com)
