Africa’s number one table tennis player, Quadri Aruna, says the 2017 International Table Tennis Federation World Tour Hungarian Open in Budapest is his launching pad for competitions in the year.
Aruna told the News Agency of Nigeria on telephone from his Portugal base that the Hungarian Open will serve as World Championships preparation in May in Germany.
Aruna said: “The World Championships is a big deal that requires my best, so, I will use the Hungarian Open to prepare myself for it.
“I have been using club sides to train too.”
The 2015 ITTF Star Player said that the last Open he took part in was the Austria Open in October 2016.
He said: “I made it to the rounds of 64 at my last Open and I am hoping for a better performance by God’s grace.
“I have been making more efforts in my training and working on my lapses.” (NAN)
