Enyimba hook Ghanaian stopper Fatau

By Daily Sports on December 17, 2016

Former African champions Enyimba have signed experienced Ghanaian goalkeeper Fatau Dauda for the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Fatau joins the Nigerian club on a two-year deal having agreed personal terms, supersport.com has been informed.

But the hierarchy of Enyimba are yet to confirm the deal as they want it to go through the Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS).

The 31-year-old comes into the Enyimba setup at a time the club experienced major departures, including the exit of three goalkeepers in the off-season.

Femi Thomas, Moses Ocheje and former under-17 stopper Joshua Enaholo left the club for different reasons in this transfer window, leaving the club with just one senior goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai, as well as Friday Achimugwu who signed for the Peoples Elephant in this window.

Fatau arrives at Enyimba with quite an impressive résumé having been at two Africa Cup of Nations in 2008 and 2013 while he being Ghana's first-choice goalkeeper at the latter edition.

The goalkeeper was last on the books of Ghana Premier League outfit AshantiGold SC. (mtnfootball.com)
