Desire Oparanozie says she is satisfied making the difference in her side 1-0 African Women’s Cup of Nations final triumph over Cameroon in Yaounde.
The 22-year-old powered the Super Falcons past the Indomitable Lionesses at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium insists her impacts were far important than starting all games.
“The feeling is amazing and out of this world for me,” Oparanozie said.
“It doesn’t really matter when I started in the tournament because we have quite a couple of good players. We came with 21 players and everyone is good and on the same level.
“I will say what matters most is what you could contribute when called upon to help my team.
“And I thank God when I was called upon, I gave my all to the best of my ability and best of my strength.
“That’s what is most important and I’m fulfilled.
Oparanozie who has scored 11 goals in three continental appearances, further lauded the improved competition in Africa but urged countries to get set for World Cup challenge.
“The level of women’s football in Africa is really on the high,” she continued. ” A couple of teams are coming up. And we now know there are a lot of teams that really want to give us a run for our money.
“It is quite impressive. I will urge every other country to keep doing what they doing. It is not going to be in Africa but let do better on the world stage.” (NAN)
