Sunderland manager David Moyes has said Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe is hugely underrated.
Moyes first worked with the big Nigeria striker at Everton and promptly signed Anichebe for Sunderland as free agent after he was released by West Bromwich Albion.
“Vic was out there and there weren’t many takers for him in the summer but I’ve always had belief in Victor. He’s got more than he shows sometimes and people don’t recognise that he’s a very good player,” Moyes remarked.
“He has great strength and ability, I just hope he keeps showing it.”
Anichebe has already begun to justify Moyes confidence after he inspired Sunderland to their first win of the Premier League season.
Despite playing with a broken rib, he scored in a 2-1 win at Bournemouth. (mtnfootball.com)
