Bernard Ovoke has set his sights extremely high with Rivers United ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season.
The winger, who finished as top scorer of the club last season, wants an encore and says there is no reason United should not target winning three titles in the upcoming season.
Ovoke says going one better in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and having a decent crack at the Federation Cup and Caf Champions League are among the priorities he is looking to achieve with the Port Harcourt club in 2017.
“First, I want to thank God for making it possible for me to have a successful 2016 season and by his special grace I hope to do more in the upcoming campaign.
“This season we are looking at winning three titles; the league, Federation Cup and the Caf Champions League.
“It will not be easy because there are a lot of strong teams in those competitions, but the objectives of this football club is always based on hard work and discipline which we believe will see us achieve success,” he told supersport.com.
Ovoke joined the Pride of Rivers from Bayelsa United at the start of last season and wowed fans and neutrals alike with consistently big performances.
He finished as top scorer with his goals propelling the club to a second-place finish in last season’s NPFL. (supersport.com)
