Eaglets’ World Cup star, Bamgboye for Hungary trials

By Daily Sports on November 1, 2016

Former Nigeria U17 World Cup star Funsho Bamgboye is set to undergo two trials in Hungary.

Bamgboye, who has been linked to several clubs in Europe, will finally going to try out in Hungary.

He was sighted at the NFF office in Abuja alongside his London-based agent.

“I feel so glad I am going to Hungary, I strongly believe in myself right from my formative years I have never for once doubted my talent,” said Funsho Bamgboye.

The fleet-footed forward blamed the Flying Eagles premature exit from next year’s U20 AFCON in Zambia for the low bargaining power of the Eaglets Class of 2015.

“The U20s missing out on the AFCON was the greatest undoing of the team and that is why I, John Lazarus and others are going for trials,” he said.

“If we had qualified, our bargaining power and demand in market would have been better, but we still thank God that the bulk of the Flying Eagles were the U17 FIFA World Cup-winning players. That was why we are drawing inspiration from each other for our careers as a footballer.” (mtnfootball.com)
