Asensio, Morata star as Real Madrid score seven in Copa del Rey rout

By Daily Sports on October 27, 2016

Real Madrid easily defeated Cultural Leonesa 7-1 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey round-of-32 tie on Wednesday.

Gianni Zuiverloon’s sixth-minute own goal put early pressure on the heavy underdogs on the day, and Marco Asensio had the defending European champions 2-0 up after 32 minutes.

Cultural Leonesa managed to keep that scoreline until half-time, but Zinedine Zidane’s side turned the screws after the break, scoring a barrage of goals to provide the lopsided scoreline.

Alvaro Morata scored a minute into the second period. And Asensio added his second seven minutes later, before Morata (55th minute), Nacho (68′) and Mariano Diaz (90′) ensured a comfortable return leg for the Bernabeu side, despite a late Benja tally in the 84th. (NAN)
