Daily Sports, Nigeria’s leading online sports daily newspaper, is set to further add value to its numerous readers with introduction of two new columns that are geared to spice up our football following.
Grassroots Soccer Focus (GSF) dissects grassroots football need and would also offer updates on latest grassroots soccer news. It is to appear on Thursdays and debuts tomorrow, October 27, 2016.
International Football Analysis (IFA) focuses on the major talking points in the world of international football. It brings the football news to sharper focus while offering opinions on the major issues of the day. The column debuts next Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
Both columns are being handled by Nelson Dafe (News Express and Daily Sports Staff Writer)
Nelson Dafe has written several interesting football articles that have made appearance in both local and international newspapers. His football writing strays beyond mundane football issues into wider areas such as sports psychology and detailed tactical analysis.
Nelson Dafe is also a football manager of a young grassroots club, Benin Warriors FC of Benin City, and this year he coached the team to a historic title win of the Edo State Football League. By so doing, Benin Warriors became the first club since after the creation of Edo State to win the state league (which is the biggest state’s grassroots tournament) in its debut season of participation and also the first team to winning the title for Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, which is one of the only three metropolitan LGAs of Edo state.
Daily Sports’ commitment to giving the best of sports information to readers remains strong and these two columns will hopefully prove so.
