Falconets to test strength against Confluence Queens

By Daily Sports on October 26, 2016

Nigeria's Falconets will on Wednesday square up against Nigeria Women League (NWL) side, Confluence Queens of Kogi State in a friendly game in Lokoja.

The friendly game is part of the intensified preparations to mould the Coach Peter Dedevbo- tutored side into tournament shape ahead of next month's FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

Falconets had over the weekend defeated Abees Golden Academy, a male football side 4-3 in a friendly match at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja.

Dedevbo said that his technical crew, after much consideration, picked Confluence Queens because of the club’s proximity to Abuja.

"Confluence Queens are the closest female team to us. It is easy for us to drive down to Lokoja, play them and return back in Abuja. The match is part of the continuous process to put the team into shape. Don't forget that we have less than three weeks to the commencement of the World Cup, so we need as many quality friendlies as we can lay our hands on.”
