Management of Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, MFM FC has affirmed that Godwin Enakhena remains the chairman of the Lagos based outfit.

Club’s media officer Olawale Quadri, disclosed to Goal that the General Overseer and financier of MFM FC, held meetings with the players and officials to express his discontent with their output last season, but never kicked anyone out.

In his reaction, Mr. Enakhena said team has learnt from their mistakes and will ensure that necessary changes are made before the commencement of the new season. He also affirmed that coach Fidelis Ilechukwu remains the club’s tactician.

"Truth is that Dr. Olukoya had a meeting with all of us, players and officials of the team last week Tuesday and Wednesday in his office. Expectedly, he wasn't happy that MFM FC barely survived the drop,” said Enakhena.

“He charged the boys and the management to up their game next season and avoid listening to rumors and so many other sundry issues which are meant to distract them from facing the task at hand.

“He also said that indisciplined players and officials will be wielded out while he will announce in the church for members with football knowledge to come forward in other to strengthen the management led by me to have a better outing next season.

“Our head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu remains with us. MFM FC is one big Christian family. We had our ups and downs last season and the good part is that we survived the drop. MFM FC is just seven months old in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

“Lessons learnt will stand us in good stead next season. We are presently on break after a hectic season and all will fall in place when we resume by the first week of November.” (goal.com)
