Moses, Success ruled out of Zambia game

By Daily Sports on October 4, 2016

Victor Moses and Isaac Success have been ruled out of Nigeria's upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifier owing to injury worries.

Chelsea’s Moses suffered a hamstring injury in Blues’ 2-0 defeat of Hull City, while Success who got his first English Premier League goal against Bournemouth had a knock.

Coach Gernot Rohr has now called up Nigeria Professional Football League stars, Wikki Tourists’ Godwin Obaje and Chisom Egbuchulam of Enugu Rangers to fill their void.

Obaje helped the Bauchi Elephants secure a Caf Confederation Cup ticket with 18 goals – which earned him the Nigeria topflight top scorer’s prize.

For Egbuchulam, his treble against El Kanemi Warriors earned the Flying Antelopes the first title after 32 years.

Zambia host the Super Eagles in Ndola on Sunday as the race for a 2018 Fifa World Cup ticket begins.

Rohr’s men must negotiate their way past Cameroon, Algeria and the Chipolopolo to qualify for the global football showpiece billed for Russia. (goal.com)
