Warri Wolves conjured up a 1-0 victory over Ikorodu United but it was not enough to prevent relegation from the top tier division.
News that MFM FC had beaten FC Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0 meant that the Seasiders, couldn't climb out of the relegation at the end of the season.
At least the home fans had a victory to cheer, with Alimi Sikiru match winning goal.
It made no difference to the NPFL table however as Wolves ended the day a Nigeria National League (NNL) club in waiting.
Akwa United 1-2 Rivers United

The MA Boys humbled Sunshine Stars 2-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.
Tourists went in front thanks to Samuel Chukwudi's 11th minute effort.

Lobi Stars ended their campaign with a 2-0 win over Nasarawa United.
They can thank Alimi Sunday and Soumaila Yaya who scored the goals at the Aper Aku Stadium.
The Pride of Benue finished in fifth place, while the Solid Miners ended up in 10th spot.

The neutrals might have felt MFM FC had emerged as league champions today but the reverse was the case.
The Olukoya Boys survived the dreaded axe of the executioner when they played the game of their lives against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Agege Stadium.

Abia Warriors 2-1 Shooting Stars

Kano Pillars 1-1 Niger Tornadoes
At the Sani Abacha Stadium, there was no winner as Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
It was game over for Baba Ganaru who tendered his resignation letter shortly after the fixture in Kano.
